Hello.
I'm Corie. : )
So...This is my first post. Its going to be a nail tutorial and a
tiny review of the polish I used today because it was my first time
using it since I purchased it.
Studs are everywhere this summer! I
have seen some ideas on Pinterest that are all so cute using studs on
finger nails...so I decided to give it a try. I found the studs on eBay for less than one dollar.
This is an OPI set I ordered off of amazon. It is called the Euro Centrale collection. The colors are just beautiful! The blue is really what sold me and why I initially wanted the set but when it arrived I was pleasantly surprised that all of the colors were gorgeous. I chose to use the purple color for this look. I love purple and gold together. The name of the purple color is You're Such A BudaPest. The only thing I didn't love about this polish was the formula was kind of thin. After two coats I could still see some of my nail peeking through and had to touch up some spots. But other than that I love it.
So to start off make sure your nails are clean and dry. A little tip I have found to work is to wipe nails with acetone right before applying polish even if I do not have any remaining polish from an existing Mani to remove. I feel like it cleans any natural oils off of the surface of the nail and makes my polish last longer. I also do not use a base coat but if you wish to use one have at it! Then go ahead and paint two coats of the color of your choice.
Next is the fun part...the studs!!!! I ordered these adorable golden studs off of eBay. They are heart shaped and so girly I had to get them...and with a price tag of a dollar I couldn't pass em up!
At the dollar store I found these Q tips with a pointed end...I like them because if I get any polish on the skin I can just dip that end in remover and clean up the excess polish precisely. Next, Paint a nail with top coat...pick up the stud with the Q tip...then place on the nail where you desire..do this with each nail until you have all of the studs in place. Then top off with another coat of top coat to seal it all up !
And that's It!! No glue or anything weird like that is needed the studs will stay in place. The secret is to use a good top coat. I used Sally Hanson double duty. I think the studs could be reused as well if you are careful when removing them.
I love the end result and think it looks great with gold rings and jewelry.
I hope you enjoyed this post I thought that I would start off with something that was cute and easy. This is my first post so leave some comments and let me know what other kind of things you all would like to see!
This is the link to the OPI set! In case you want to get yourself one.
And the studs were won on eBay.
