Product Review and CVS Haul : Things YOU Should Totally Try

Hello Again! <3
Today I went to CVS and picked up some things because they had a really good sale going on with several different brands of cosmetics. Some of these things are things that I purchased in the past month but most are things I bought today. So lets get started. :)

Ok the products I bought today are the 2 Loreal Colour Caresse Lipsticks, the Revlon Color Stay foundation, and the Physician's Formula Concealer RX.

The Revlon foundation:
I had been using the FIT foundations but now that the weather is getting hot they just were not cutting it. CVS had a deal where if you spent 10 dollars on Revlon Cosmetics you got a 4 Dollar coupon for the next transaction. (Which I always split my products in 2 or 3 transactions that way I can use my coupons imediately after receiving them because I have a bad memory and if I dont I never will use them) Anyways, the foundation I would say is medium to full coverage. The color I chose was perfect for my skin tone I believe it is called natural beige. It does not leave your skin feeling oily at all to me but you can feel it moisturizing as you put it on and like most foundations you must set with a light powder. Over all I would give this product an A-.

Physician's Formula Concealer RX in light:

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PRODUCT! I have horrible circles under my eyes. I have tried thick, thin, medium Constancy concealers and it is beyond hard to find one that will cover without looking cakey, crackly, or that settles in fine lines. (high end and low end) This is a different kind of product
It is one of those things that change your life....ok maybe that's a little dramatic...but hey its the little things right? ( : The formula is perfect not too thick not too thin, very pigmented, and only takes a tiny tiny bit to cover the darkest of places on the skin. It does not settle in lines and looks great over blemishes and discolorations in skin. Just dust with a small amount of powder after blending it into skin and you are good to go for hours. CVS has this product 40 percent off this week it is regularly 9 bucks and some change...and to be honest I would pay 20 for it.  A+++++ product.

Caresse Lipsticks by Loreal

Lets move on to the lipsticks. I have been eying these lipsticks for a few weeks but I was not really sure if I would like them. I had heard mixed reviews about them. I have and love the Revlon Lip Butters..and many reviews I saw said that the Lip Butters were much better than the Caresse Collection. But...I have to disagree.
For the past 9 months I have been obsessed with the Revlon Lip Butters. I only owned 2 of the colors because they are SO HARD TO FIND around here. Everywhere I go seems like they have the same ole colors in stock..and the same ole empty places where the others had sold out. So today when I was making my routine visit to the Revlon section to see if by chance they had any different colors in stock I was not surprised when they didn't.
Then I saw the Caresse Line and realized that they had so many more colors to choose from and I was sucked in immediately when I noticed they were BOGO 50% off.

(Top swatch is the Pink Cashmere Bottom is Violet Chiffon)

I had been dying to try a purple lipstick all summer so I purchased Violet Chiffon let me tell you I LOVE IT...Its not too purple...(Although it looks scary in the tube) Its the perfect shade.

I also got a pink color that I thought would be pretty for summer. Pink Cashmere. It also is very pretty...could be worn with a smokey eye or build up the color to use as a statement lip.

The formula is wonderful with these. They are very moisturizing like the Lip Butters but they are much more pigmented. They have a nice subtle scent and the packaging looks high end in my opinion.

I also wanted to mention a couple more products I have been loving recently.
The Johnson and Johnson Baby Cream Oil
smells like heaven in a tube and moisturizes your skin without sticky thick lotion feeling. If you like the smell of coco butter you'll love this. It is perfect for summer. Also it doesn't hurt that it is super affordable.

Nivea Kiss of Smoothness
Perfect chap-stick award! I'm in love. No weird smells tastes or textures found in this little tube! I love wearing it all of the time under my lipsticks, after I wash my face at night, and when I am out in the sun because it does have an SPF of 4. I have also tried the Kiss of honey version but I do not enjoy the smell of it...It smells like cherries to me and I don't know why but I hate cherries. So I stick to the original. A+ product.

Suave Moroccan Argan Styling Oil
This product is something new for me. My hair is very straight and heavy so I usually try to avoid any oils or moisturizing products besides conditioner because I feel they usually weigh my hair down and make it stringy looking. But this oil does the opposite. I put this product in my hair before blow drying and sometimes after drying as well. A little bit goes a long way and the results are incredible. My hair feels and looks so soft and healthy after using it without weighing it down or making it look oily or stringy. I do not put this product anywhere near my roots but I put it everywhere else and it works like a dream. This product costs about 6 bucks at CVS and its totally worth that. A+ product.

Ok guys so thats all for today! Hope this could be helpful and give you some ideas for products to try. I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Until Next Time <3

Girly Camera Strap Cover DIY

Today I was looking through some pictures on my camera and I noticed my camera strap cover was getting a little old. I knew I could purchase one off of Etsy but they are so easy and quick to make. So I decided to whip me up a new one and show y'all how I do it! :)

I wanted something girly and maybe even a little vintage looking. This is what I came up with above.
.If you like it keep reading!

WHAT YOU WILL NEED <3
scissors. fabric. pins. hot glue gun or needle and thread. sewing machine. thin quilt batting.

STEP ONE <3
Measure your straps length and width.
Double the measurements in the width and add 3/4 of an inch.
add 3/4 of an inch in the length as well.

STEP TWO <3
Cut 2 identical rectangles using your measurements out of your fabric.
also cut one out of the batting the same size.

STEP THREE <3

After you have everything cut out and edges straight. Put one rectangle face down.  Then, add the quilt batting. On top of that the last rectangle of fabric face up. It is kind of like a tiny tiny quilt.
Then you will pin the corners to make sure none of the layers shift as you are sewing. I like using safety pins for this because I feel it keeps the layers in place but you can use regular pins.

STEP FOUR <3

sew some lines in the "tiny quilt"  about 3-4 inches apart. You can do this any way you would like you can sew your lines diagonally or horizontally as I did. I would suggest you use a thread that is close to the color of your fabric if you are like me and have trouble sewing straight lines. ;)
(note I used darker thread so that it would be visible in the photos)

STEP FIVE <3

hem the top and bottom (Short ends) as pictured below.

STEP SIX <3

Fold your "tiny quilt" length wise or "hot dog style" as my first grade teacher would have said.
Y'all know you remember that. : )

STEP SEVEN <3
PIN PIN PIN! I know it looks easy but don't be like me and think "oh no need to pin its just sewing a line."
but I had to flip it inside out a bazillion times because I didn't sew through all of the layers.
SO pin it and sew a straight line.
then zig-zag stitch the edges to prevent fraying and then flip that baby inside out.

Now you can stop there and it is cute but I wanted to add some embellishments. I used my hot glue gun because I HATE HAND SEWING....but if you want to use needle and thread you can.

If you want flowers like mine just take a strip of fabric then glue and pleat the fabric as you go...to form a little bowl looking flower. I also glued a pearl in the center for a little bling.
you also can add bows, rosettes, buttons, ruffles and lace.
whatever your heart's desire.

Next just slip it over your camera strap, and that's it!!!
I like the way it turned out. It looks so much better than that ugly black strap and will protect your camera strap from getting damaged or dirty.

 Until Next Time... < 3

My Favorite Spring and Summer Nail Polishes

Hello : )

I have been loving summer polish. The bright colors just make me happy and I personally like them so much more than the winter colors. These are a few of my favorites that I have purchased this year so far.

This OPI EURO Centrale set is what I mentioned in my last post. I had to mention it again because it really is a great collection. The photos do not really do the colors justice. The blue and purple are my favorites out of the four but the pink and gold both are gorgeous as well!
(Blue: Can't Find My Czechbook, Purple: You're Such A BudaPest, Pink: Suzi's Hungry AGAIN!, Gold: OY-Another Polish Joke!)

Essie is my favorite brand of polish by far. The formula is so great and it seems to stay on my nails longer than any other brand.

This color below has been my absolute favorite. It is a light coral color and unlike any other color I have seen. It is by Essie and named "Haute as Hello." If you decide to purchase any of these colors this would be my number one pick!

My next two Essie favorites are great too! Plumberry is a beautiful mix of hot pink and bright red. I love this color so much for summer because it is super bright and cheery to me! I like to use it to paint my toes in the summer as well as my nails.

The next favorite is a great color too. Its not quite as bright as the others but is it a mint color which is a very popular color for the summer months this year. It also looks sooo good when you are nice and tan. It would be perfect for a beach trip. It is by Essie as well and is named Turquoise & Caicos

And The last color I'm using a lot is just a basic white polish. I love the Sally Hansen "White On" I prefer this brand because it is well formulated and super affordable (I believe under 3 bucks at Walmart) I really think with basic colors such as white it really doesn't matter what brand you buy as long as the formula is good...white is white. That's just my opinion. ; )
White is such a versatile color to have and really is vital for most nail art looks. You can choose to go with a clean solid white nail that makes even the fairest of girls look tan...or you can do polka dots, stripes or ombre looks while using white as a base to your nail art.

So those are just a few of my favorites I'm loving this summer!
I would love to hear some of your favorites!

Purple Studded Nails

Hello.
I'm Corie. : )

So...This is my first post. Its going to be a nail tutorial and a tiny review of the polish I used today because it was my first time using it since I purchased it.
Studs are everywhere this summer! I have seen some ideas on Pinterest that are all so cute using studs on finger nails...so I decided to give it a try. I found the studs on eBay for less than one dollar.

This is an OPI set I ordered off of amazon. It is called the Euro Centrale collection. The colors are just beautiful! The blue is really what sold me and why I initially wanted the set but when it arrived I was pleasantly surprised that all of the colors were gorgeous. I chose to use the purple color for this look. I love purple and gold together. The name of the purple color is You're Such A BudaPest. The only thing I didn't love about this polish was the formula was kind of thin. After two coats I could still see some of my nail peeking through and had to touch up some spots. But other than that I love it.

So to start off make sure your nails are clean and dry. A little tip I have found to work is to wipe nails with acetone right before applying polish even if I do not have any remaining polish from an existing Mani to remove. I feel like it cleans any natural oils off of the surface of the nail and makes my polish last longer. I also do not use a base coat but if you wish to use one have at it! Then go ahead and paint two coats of the color of your choice.

Next is the fun part...the studs!!!! I ordered these adorable golden studs off of eBay. They are heart shaped and so girly I had to get them...and with a price tag of a dollar I couldn't pass em up!
At the dollar store I found these Q tips with a pointed end...I like them because if I get any polish on the skin I can just dip that end in remover and clean up the excess polish precisely.  Next, Paint a nail with top coat...pick up the stud with the Q tip...then place on the nail where you desire..do this with each nail until you have all of the studs in place. Then top off with another coat of top coat to seal it all up !

And that's It!!  No glue or anything weird like that is needed the studs will stay in place. The secret is to use a good top coat. I used Sally Hanson double duty. I think the studs could be reused as well if you are careful when removing them.
I love the end result and think it looks great with gold rings and jewelry.

I hope you enjoyed this post I thought that I would start off with something that was cute and easy. This is my first post so leave some comments and let me know what other kind of things you all would like to see!

This is the link to the OPI set! In case you want to get yourself one.

And the studs were won on eBay.
